Hi … my name is Trixie and here are some things you need to know about me:

Weight/size: 26 lbs (needs to lose a few pounds)

Housebroken:  about 90% … she does well as long as she is let outside regularly

Crate trained:  YES (not her favorite place to be but she does fine!)

Personality: sweet, curious, independent, doxi-stubborn

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES … definitely preferred because she LOVES to get outside and explore (we think there is some beagle nose in the mix)

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first 

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Doesn’t pay a lot of attention to the cats

Good with children:  Seems to be fine with children

What a cutie Miss Trixie is!  By all accounts she had lived most of her life outside before coming into rescue.  She seems to really like being inside and being a real family member.  She does still love exploring the yard so a fenced yard is one of the things she would really love to have!  She always lived with another dog and has done well with her foster friends, so we think she would enjoy having another pup or two to play with. She is a very sweet girl and she really deserves a loving family of her very own.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
 
When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Trixie picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
